May the setbacks you’ve experienced slow you down just long enough to gain perspective, open your heart to new ways of feeling and your hands to new ways of doing, and to see you rise stronger than you fell.
May the insights gained in the last year continue to guide your footsteps.
May the sights, sounds, tastes, smells, and feel of the world around you give you not only a reverence for the gift we continue to exist in every second, but also a holy discomfort at the mangled bodies of war, greed, hatred, inequality, poverty, famine, and disease that continue to litter the landscape of the earth;
may that discomfort propel you into action to affect change in your community, in your family, and in the world as a whole.
